Bradd Westmoreland has held a number of solo exhibitions in Australia since graduating from the Victorian College of the Arts in 1995. His work is held the collections of British Museum, The National Gallery of Victoria and various private collections.

Westmoreland paints landscapes, but his works do not fit neatly into the landscape category. Loose images of strangely familiar objects that on closer inspection reveal themselves as buildings, trees or naked semi-erotic human forms. 

Westmoreland’s dreamlike narratives, seem to depict painting itself. Through the use of strange twisting ambiguous forms depicted with strong brushstrokes and bold colour, the sense of immediacy in the artists works contain a kind of truth, though the scale is these works is illogical, the space or scenes depicted are ambiguous.
